A room that stays open

If you kept mhm on your home screen, force-quitting it could throw you back to the password screen. The session lives in a cookie, and iOS doesn’t reliably save the cookie to disk before killing the app, so a room you’d signed into forgot you.

The app now keeps its own copy of the signed session token, never the password, and trades it for a fresh cookie when you come back. Leaving a room still signs you out.
